عبد الكريم بن محمد بن منصور التميمي السمعاني المروزي، أبو سعد: مؤرخ رحالة من حفاظ الحديث.
مولده ووفاته بمرو.
رحل إلى أقاصي البلاد، ولقي العلماء والمحدثين، وأخذ عنهم، وأخذوا عنه.
نسبته إلى سمعان (بطن من تميم).
من كتبه، «الأنساب - ط» و «تاريخ مرو» يزيد على عشرين جزءا، و «تذييل تاريخ بغداد، لخطيب» له مختصر مخطوط، و «تاريخ الوفاة، للمتأخرين من الرواة» و «الأمالي» لعله «أدب الإملاء والاستملاء - ط» في ليدن ؟ و «التحبير في المعجم الكبير - خ[ثم طُبع]» ينقص أوراقا قليلة من أوله ومن آخره اقتنيت تصويره.
و «فرط الغرام إلى ساكني الشام» ثمانية أجزاء، و «تبيين معادن المعاني - خ» في لطائف القرآن الكريم
