عبد الأحد السبتي (مواليد فاس سنة 1948)، هو أستاذ باحث في التاريخ ومؤرخ مغربي، يعمل بكلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية بالرباط. عمل في السابق أستاذا للاجتماعيات بثانوية عبد المالك السعدي بالقنيطرة. وقد حصل على دكتوراه السلك الثالث بجامعة باريس 7، ودكتوراه الدولة بجامعة محمد الخامس - أكدال.

مرافقة التقصي «العلمي» للتدخل الاستعماري ظاهرة عامة تتصل بعلاقة المعرفة بالسلطة، إلا أن المسألة اتخذت في المغرب شكلاً متميزاً. فإذا كانت ظرفية التنافس الدولي طوال الثلثين الأخيرين من القرن التاسع عشر قد أخَّرت زمن استحواذ فرنسا على مصير المغرب (1912)، فإن هذه الملابسات مكنت المتروبول من مراكمة قدر كبير من المعرفة الميدانية، في وقت شحذت فيه مهاراتها الاستعمارية ببلدان ومناط مرافقة التقصي «العلمي» للتدخل الاستعماري ظاهرة عامة تتصل بعلاقة المعرفة بالسلطة، إلا أن المسألة اتخذت في المغرب شكلاً متميزاً. فإذا كانت ظرفية التنافس الدولي طوال الثلثين الأخيرين من القرن التاسع عشر قد أخَّرت زمن استحواذ فرنسا على مصير المغرب (1912)، فإن هذه الملابسات مكنت المتروبول من مراكمة قدر كبير من المعرفة الميدانية، في وقت شحذت فيه مهاراتها الاستعمارية ببلدان ومناطق أخرى مثل الجزائر وتونس والهند الصينية ومدغشقر. هكذا استطاعت فرنسا أن تبلور في المغرب سياسة مبنية على توظيف البنيات العتيقة مع الاقتصاد في التكاليف، وعملت كذلك على المتابعة العلمية المثابرة لمستجدات المجتمع المستعمر.
