ففي الوقت، الذي يتناول المؤلف إيتماتوف وبعبقرية رائدة مصير الشابة "جميلة" فإنه يعكس من خلالها مصائر النساء في جمهورية قرغيزستان، وتم ذلك في هذه القصة من خلال المصير الصعب والقاسي لشابة في ريعان شبابها يذهب زوجها بعد أسابيع من زواجهما إلى الجبهة ولا يعود حتى بعد ان يحتوي هذا الكتاب على ثلاثة أعمال أدبية للكاتب الشهير جنكيز إيتماتوف، وهي: "جميلة" ، "عين الجمل" ، "وجهاً لوجه".
ففي الوقت، الذي يتناول المؤلف إيتماتوف وبعبقرية رائدة مصير الشابة "جميلة" فإنه يعكس من خلالها مصائر النساء في جمهورية قرغيزستان، وتم ذلك في هذه القصة من خلال المصير الصعب والقاسي لشابة في ريعان شبابها يذهب زوجها بعد أسابيع من زواجهما إلى الجبهة ولا يعود حتى بعد انتهاء الحرب، إلا أن القدر يجمع بينها وبين محارب شجاع عاد معاقاً نتيجة إصابة بإحدى رجليه مع جروح أخرى.
وفي قصة "عين الجمل" تدور الأحداث حول استصلاح الأراضي البكر في قرغيزستان والمشكلات الإجتماعية التي ترافق تلك الأعمال.
أما في قصة "وجهاً لوجه" نجد الحبكة الأدبية العالية المستوى التي أثرت على الكثير من الكتّاب الشباب.
وفي كل واحدة من القصص الثلاث يجد القارئ المتعة الأدبية الشفافة من بنات أفكار الكاتب المعروف، وبلغة سلسة وشيّقة.
