سِيْرة الملاّية سَعْدَة بِنْت يُوسُف بن مزْعِل (1915-1998)
منذورة منذ طفولتها للحسين، تبدأ خطواتها على العتبة الأولى؛ إذ كلمات القرآن، تصقل مخارج حروف حَنْجَرَتِها الطّريّة. في الخامسة من عمرها أخذها أبوها الحاج يُوسُف مزعل إلى مُعلِّمي القرآن من آل حبيل، يحملُها على حماره وسط مزارع سترة بمحاذاة البحر والنّخل. تتمكن من حفظ القرآن سريعًا محفوفًا بأص الحَاجِيَّة بِنْتُ مزْعِل

(بنت يُوسُف أو بِنت مزْعِل) الاسم الشّهير لتلك الملاّية التي جالت مآتم البحرين؛ لتصدح بما وهبها اللهُ من نقاء حنجرة، وانفراد كاريزما. سيّدة سّتراويّة وهبت وقتها كلَّه للحسين، وأوقفت حياتها على آل الحسين.
قضت حياتَها بين الكتب والقراءة الحسينية، كانت تقول "كتبي حِجابُ صوني" إنّها مقولة عميقةُ الحضور في وجدانها، لقد منحتها كتبُها قوّة، وغنى، ومتانة، ومعرفة، وذاكرة حاضرة، وصانت مكانتها وجعلتْ منها ملاّيةً تشرئب لها الأعناقُ.
أولت عناية للفقراء، والمحتاجين، والأيتام، وبَنَتْ ثلاثة مساجد بالقرية: مسجد الصّاغة، ومسجد شيخ راشد، ومسجد المزعلية.
تقولُ الملاّية أمّ السّادة: "إنّ صوت بنت مزْعِل من القوّة بحيث يغسل المستمعات من ذنوبهنّ وهمومهنّ الصغيرة، أقولها وأنا واحدة من اللواتي عايشنَ مجالسها، نخرج من مجلسها، وكأنّ لا ذنب لنا"
