رفيق حبيب هو مفكر مصري مسيحي من مواليد القاهرة سبتمبر 1959م، ينتسب إلى الطائفة الإنجيلية وهو نائب رئيس حزب الحرية والعدالة المنبثق من جماعة الإخوان المسلمين. يعد أحد المفكرين المعتدلين في مصر.
حصل رفيق على درجة ماجستير في الآداب تخصص علم نفس من كلية الآداب بجامعة عين شمس في 1985، ثم درجة دكتوراه الفلسفة في الآداب تخصص علم نفس اجتماعي من ذات الجامعة في 1988.
عين مستشارا في الفريق الرئاسي لمحمد مرسي واعتزل العمل السياسي احتجاجا على موقعة الاتحادية

يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن التطور من الحل الروحي أو التيار الروحي الذي يميل إلى الانعزال، إلى الحرب الروحية التي تميز أصحابها بالتركيز على القضية الروحية فقط، بل وكان بعض أنصارها يعارضون الدولة في كثير من الأمور مما جعلها تصب جام غضبها عليهم، ومع معارضة الكنيسة لهذا التيار ساعد ذلك على القضاء على هذا التيار أو عدم انتشاره. ويتكلم عن العملية السياسية في المسيحية، ويوضح العلاقة بين يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن التطور من الحل الروحي أو التيار الروحي الذي يميل إلى الانعزال، إلى الحرب الروحية التي تميز أصحابها بالتركيز على القضية الروحية فقط، بل وكان بعض أنصارها يعارضون الدولة في كثير من الأمور مما جعلها تصب جام غضبها عليهم، ومع معارضة الكنيسة لهذا التيار ساعد ذلك على القضاء على هذا التيار أو عدم انتشاره. ويتكلم عن العملية السياسية في المسيحية، ويوضح العلاقة بين المسيحية والسياسة، وعلاقة رجال الدين بالحكم. ويعطي نماذج لتيارات المسيحية السياسية بين رجال الدين. ويؤكد على أن المسيحية دين ودنيا. ويقدم نماذج لتيارات المسيحية بين المثقفين الأقباط، والتيار العلماني عند المسيحيين. ثم يتناول تيار الراديكالية الاجتماعية المسيحية، ويرى أنه امتداد لتيار العلمانية الدينية، ويوضح أثر هذا التيار على المثقفين.
