واليوم أقدم لك فى هذه العجالة أهم شخصيات الرواية كالآ عزيزى القـارئ :

( مارسيل ) ، وهو راوى الأحداث ، عاطفى وشديد الحساسية ، متعلق بأمه تعلقًا كبيرًا ومولع بالكتب .
والد ( مارسيل ) ، وهو موظف حكومى ، صارم نحو ابنه !
والدة ( مارسيل ) ، وهى رقيقة ومتعاطفة مع ابنها ، أما نحو زوجها فهى خاضعة وشغوفة به .
( أوديت دى كريس ) التى يطلق عليهـا فى مواضع أخـرى من الرواية السيدة ( ذات الرداء الوردى ) و( مس ساكريبون ) ، ومدام ( شـارل سـوان ) ، والكونتة ( دى فورشفيل ) ، وهى عاهرة ، ومريضة بالشذوذ أحيانًا ، وتغـدو خليلة لبطل الرواية ( سوان ) ، ثم زوجة له بعد ذلـك ، وهى سوقية فى مشاعرها وأذواقها ، ومريضة بداء الكذب !
