تشرفت بقراءة رواية "ماستر وسليف" للروائي المبدع "عمر فؤاد" وعلى الرغم من أن الرواية تبدو للوهلة الأولى متمردة وثائرة على مفاهيم ومعتقدات تقليدية إلا أنني لم أجد فيها ما يخدش الحياء أو يعارض القيم الدينية والأخلاقية، ولكن أهم ما في الرواية في رأيي هو محاولة تحديد ما هي أبعاد السلوك الطبيعي والسلوك المرضي، وهل كل خروج عن المألوف.. حتى ولو لم يتجاوز ثوابت الدين والأخلاق يعتبر سلوكاً مرضياً أم لا.
هو في الحقيقة موضوع يثير إهتمام الكثير من الأطباء النفسيين حيث أن هناك عديد من الأصوات المهاجمة التي تتهم الطب النفسي بمحاولة إضفاء صبغة مرضية لكل سلوك إنساني؛ وبالتالي لم تعد هناك حدود فاصلة أو واضحة بين ما هو "سلوك طبيعي مختلفط وما هو "سلوك مرضي شاذ".

رواية غريبة بداية من اسمها "ماستر وسليف"؛ ومروراً بشخصياتها الحقيقية، الذين إقتبس المؤلف من حكاياتهم الواقعية الخطوط العريضة لروايته، وإنتهاءاً بالمضمون الذي يتكلم عن الساديين والماسوشيين، ليكشف المؤلف الأسرار عن الشخصيات في روايته هذه؛ يبدو أنه يتكلم عن فئة غير قليلة في المجتمع، و؛ سنترك الجمهور ليقرر ذلك.

الساديين والماسوشيين في داخل المجتمع المصري هل هم مرضى أو شواذ أم جماعة خارجة عن تقاليد المجتمع أم أناساً يأسوا من أن يتفهم المجتمع أسلوب حياتهم فإرتدوا الأقنعة وعاشوا في عوالمهم الإفتراضية وحسب قوانينهم؟ لن نجيب الأسئلة ولكن سنعيش أحداث رواية من واقعهم وواقعنا تروي عنهم وعنا وقد تجيب الرواية في نهايتها عن كل تلك الأسئلة وأسئلة أخرى لم يجرؤ أحد على أن يضع علامات إستفهامها.
