يكاد يطبق البشر على أن هناك ما يسمى بالفطرة أو الحس المشترك أو الإجماع الإنساني، وعلى أن الاحتجاج به أمر لا يحتاج إلى إثبات، حيث أننا وجدنا أنفسنا في هذه الحياة ونحن في قناعة بتلك الأمور.
ولكن في العقود الأخيرة، اجتاحت الأفكار الإلحادية الساحة الفكرية المعاصرة، بأفكارها التي تنكر كل ما هو أولي أو مجمع عليه لدى كافة البشر. فحتى حقيقة وجودنا، أصبحت عرضة للتشكيك، وتحتاج لتسويغ يكاد يطبق البشر على أن هناك ما يسمى بالفطرة أو الحس المشترك أو الإجماع الإنساني، وعلى أن الاحتجاج به أمر لا يحتاج إلى إثبات، حيث أننا وجدنا أنفسنا في هذه الحياة ونحن في قناعة بتلك الأمور.
ولكن في العقود الأخيرة، اجتاحت الأفكار الإلحادية الساحة الفكرية المعاصرة، بأفكارها التي تنكر كل ما هو أولي أو مجمع عليه لدى كافة البشر. فحتى حقيقة وجودنا، أصبحت عرضة للتشكيك، وتحتاج لتسويغ حتى تَثبُت. فالأمر لم يقتصر على إنكار وجود خالق للخلق، ولكن تعدى ذلك ليشمل كل الأفكار المشتركة بين البشر.
إن أضفنا لذلك حقيقة أن الأفكار الفطرية تحتاج لضوابط تحددها، وتفصل عنها ما ليس منها، ومعايير للاحتجاج بها، بحيث لا تورد في غير موضعها، اتضحت الحاجة لهذا البحث.
يسعى بحث (الإجماع الإنساني)، في إطار رسالة المركز لبناء التصورات الصحيحة عن الدين والإنسان والحياة، لضبط مفهوم الاحتجاج بالأفكار الفطرية المشتركة بين كافة البشر عبر العصور، ويطرح بنيانا متكاملا للرؤية الصحيحة المنضبطة للكون من حولنا. فهو لا يدافع عن المفاهيم الدينية (كصحة وجود خالق للخلق)، ولكن يدفع الإلحاد ومنظريه للبحث عن ما يبرر إنكارهم للخالق داخل إطار الرؤية الصحيحة التي ينبغي أن ننظر بها للحياة.
