الكتاب صدر بمقدمة للدكتور مصطفي سليم الذي رأى أن الكاتب ا "فارس والمهرة ـ طلقات اللحظة الأخيرة" نصان مسرحيان جديدان، في كتاب واحد، للناقد والكاتب المسرحي د. سيد الإمام، صمن سلسلة "نصوص مسرحية" التى تصدرها الهيئة العامة لقصور الثقافة .

الكتاب صدر بمقدمة للدكتور مصطفي سليم الذي رأى أن الكاتب اعتمد في نصيه على بعض العناصر الميلودرامية التي تم توظيفها بمهارة لأهداف تتناقض مع الميلودراما التي كانت في نشأتها تهدف لتغييب وعي المتفرج ، بينما وظفها الكاتب لأهداف تنويرية، مشيرا إلى أن أبرز تلك العناصر التى تم تفريغها من محتواها الميلودرامي " طلقات الرصاص في نهاية أحداث نص فارس والمهرة ، والانتحار غرقا في نهاية نص طلقات للحظة الأخيرة .
