لا أنكر أنني ضعفت أمام تلك المرأة، ضعفت أمام دموعها، أمام توسلاتها وتضرعاتها، كادت تخر عند قدمي جاثية وهي المتكبرة المتعجرفة، لأغفر لها ما ارتكبته بحقي من غدر وخيانة عندما كنت في مقتبل الشباب. خطيئتي كانت في ضعفي، في إحساسي بالعجز، إحساس سد عليّ مسالك تفكيري وشعاب عقلي، حاولت جاهداً أن أدفع عن نفسي الخطيئة. لا أخفيك علماً أن جورج أطلعني على تهتكها وسوء سيرتها، إذ تصادف وجودهما في فرنسا. واجهتها بحقيقة اكتشافي، حذرتها الا تقترب مني، اتهمت جورج بالكذب، بذلت كل ما في وسعها للدفاع عن نفسها، وراحت تلاحقني وتطاردني كظلي، عبر الهاتف، في الكلية، في الشارع، الى أن جاءتني الى البيت، أحمد الله أن نور كانت غائبة. رأيتها من خلال العين الزجاجية. لم أفتح لها بادئ الأمر، لكنها كانت متيقنة من وجودي، فراحت تقرع الباب بقبضتها بمنتهى القوة والعصبية، ضغطت على الجرس بتواصل وجنون، حتى أطارت صوابي، فتحت وقد أخرجتني عن طوري، اضطرتني لأن أسمعها كلاماً لم أعتد التفوه به طوال عمري. أرجو أن تؤمني أنني لم أرتكب خطيئة سوى الإحساس بالضعف تاه فكري، لكن جسدي لم يته. أقسمت لك يوماً إنني لم أمس تلك المرأة، وأعود لأقسم إنه لم تمتلك جسدي امرأة سواك.
