مثل التعليم المحك العملي لمفاهيم الثقافة السياسية والعقيدة السياسية لدى كل من طرفي الصراع العربي-الإسرائيلي من خلال الأدوار التي قام بها مباشرة في الإعداد والتنشئة والتعبئة التي تسبق كل مرحلة من مراحل الصراع، والذي أثر في مختلف مجالات الحياة وأنشطتها على طرفي خطوط المواجهة. ويكمن موضوع الدراسة في مدى وضوح رؤية كل من طرفي الصراع لدور التعليم فيه وتأثير هذه الرؤية في استخدام هذا الدور في خدمة أهداف كل طرف ومصالحه. لذلك لا تخلو الأيديولوجيا السياسية لدى طرفي الصراع من تحديد رؤية لدور التعليم الذي يبني الذات القادرة، ويرسم صورة الآخر في ذهن الناشئة على النحو الذي يرى أنه كاف وملائم لتحقيق رغبته وتميزه وتفوقه على الخصم. وبمقدار وضوح هذه الرؤية الأيديولوجية، فإن التعليم يصبح فعالاً في تحقيق الوضع الأفضل لصاحب تلك الرؤية من الطرفين.
