أدى تطور العلاقات بين تركيا وإسرائيل ووصولها إلى مستوى التحالف العسكري، إلى زيادة التركيز على العلاقات العربية-التركية على المستويات كافة. ويلاحظ المؤلف أن حجم العلاقات الاقتصادية بين تركيا والدول العربية لا يمكن أن يقارن حالياً أو في المستقبل المنظور بحجم علاقاتها الاقتصادية مع إسرائيل، ومع ذلك تستمر تركيا في ترسيخ تحالفاتها العسكرية والاستراتيجية مع الدولة العبرية، رغم ما تلحقه هذه التحالفات من أذى بالمصالح العربية، الأمر الذي يعكس مفارقة تستحق الوقوف عندها. تتناول هذه الدراسة إذاً مقارنة للعلاقات الاقتصادية العربية-التركية بعلاقات تركيا الاقتصادية مع إسرائيل، وهذه مسألة مهمة بنظر الباحث لأن التطور المحتمل لهذه العلاقات الأخيرة في مجالات مألوفة كالتجارة، وأخرى غير مألوفة كالمياه والتصنيع العسكري، يدعم التحالف الاستراتيجي الإسرائيلي-التركي، ويقوي إسرائيل التي ستظل تشكل إلى أمد غير منظور الخطر الرئيس الذي يهدد الأمن القومي العربي.
