منذ حوالى سنتين بدأت ناهد تكتب أسبوعياً في مجلة صباح الخير سلسلة من الحوارات تحت اسم يوميات مدير.
تتخيل ناهد أسرة مكونة من أب موظف على درجة مدير إدارة وأم موظفة حكومة أيضاً، وابنة وابن في التعليم. وكل أسبوع يمر على الأسرة موقف معبر عما يحدث في الأسر المصرية، تناقش ناهد الموقف عن طريق حوارات بين أفراد الأسرة.
تضع ناهد علي لسان كل شخصية مجموعة من المعلومات والآراء. تستخدم لغة عامية قريبة من الفصحي تجعل القارئ يشعر بصدق الحوار ويتفاعل معه.
نتيجة سلاسة الحوارات وعمقها اقترحنا نحن زملائها أن تحولها إلي مسلسل تليفزيوني أو علي أقل تقدير تجمعها في كتاب.
لم تناقش ناهد فكرة التليفزيون معنا واكتفت بابتسامة غامضة. لكنها بدت مستعدة لوضع فكرة الكتاب موضع التنفيذ.
نصحناها أن تختار الموضوعات التي لا علاقة لها بالأحداث الجارية حتى لا تحتفظ في الكتاب بموضوع قديم.
المفاجأة أننا اكتشفنا أن أغلب الموضوعات صالحة، المشاكل لا تحل ولا تنتهي، يقول المدير رداً على دهشة زوجته من تكرار المشاكل كل عام في نفس الموعد وبنفس الطريقة (مستغربة ليه. قولى لى عن أي أزمة حصلت قبل كده والحكومة بتاعتنا عرفت تواجهها ببساطة.. الحكومة عندنا بتتحرك بترتيب.. الأول الأزمة تحصل، وبعدين تتفاقم، ساعتها تبتدي تدينا تصريحات، وبعدين تتحرك، وجهودها تتعثر، وتفشل.. خطوة بخطوة، الأزمة تخلص لوحدها.. وأنا وإنت أهو، السنة الجاية حيحصل نفس الشئ).
