في عمله الروائي الجديد (جنَة إبراهيم) يعود إبن الجنوب اللبناني صبحي مصطفى أيوب بذاكرته إلى خمسينيات القرن المنصرم وبالتحديد إلى قرية أو الورد الجنوبية وهو يرصد تاريخ تلك القرية الحدودية المحاذية لفلسطين المحتلة وبيوتها المنتشرة على ثلاث تلال ليستقي من مخزون الذاكرة حكايات وأخبار وأحاديث من ذلك الزمن الجميل، مسلطاً الأضواء على ظاهرة النزوح من الريف إلى المدينة. حيث يبدأ إبراهيم العلي بطله، رحلة البحث عن عمل في العاصمة بيروت كغيره من أبناء جيله، وهناك في عالم المدينة وأضوائها تدور حكايات أخرى تلعب فيها الأقدار دوراً كبيراً في صنع حياة الشاب إبراهيم وغيره من شخصيات الرواية، هذه الشخصيات على الرغم من الواقع القاسي الذي عاشته عرفت كيف تتحرر من أثقالها الداخلية؛ فلم تفقد الرغبة في البداية الجديدة، ذلك أن إرادة الإستمرار هي ما يحركها وهكذا هي الحياة كما يقول الروائي: تعطينا الحياة من دفءٍ وحنانٍ ورقة، بقدر ما نستطيع أن نأخذ منها... ونعطيها من عاطفتنا، وصدقنا وإهتمامنا...".
