بين أيدينا رسالةٌ لطيفةُ الحجم، كبيرةُ القدر، أما لطافةُ حجمها فهي لا تتجاوزُ ثلاث عشرة ورقةً، وأمّا كبرُ قدرها فذاك بأنها تُعالِجُ موضوعاً دلاليّاً مُهماً شهد حُضوراً واضحاً في مصنفات أصول الفقه، وغياباً تاماً في مؤلفات علم الدلالة الحديث، وهو موضوعُ تعارض الإحتمالات الظنيَّة المخلَّة بالقطعِ عند طُروتها على ألفاظ النُّصوص والخطابات. وقد حفظ لنا تاريخُ التأليف الأصولي رسالتين يتيمتين محضهُما صاحباهُما لبيانِ أمثلة تعارُضِ الإحتمالات الظنيَّة، عنوان إحداهُما (ورقاتُ أمثلة التعارُض) لمُؤلِّفها سراج الدِّين الأرموي الشافعي - وهي التي بين أيدينا - وعُنوانُ الأخرى (الإحتمالاتُ المرجوحة) لشهاب الدين القرافي المالكي شارح (المحصول). وقد قيض الله تعالى لثانية الرسالتين من نشرها بين الناس، أما أولاهما فها نحن أولاءٍ ننفضُ عنها غُبار القرون للمرة الأولى، راجين بذلك أن نُسهمَ في توطيد أركان نظرية دلاليَّةٍ عظيمةٍ عربيَّة النشأة واللسان، تُعني بما أسميناه في أطروحتنا للدكتوراه (تعارُض الإحتمالات اللغويَّة المخلة بالقطع).
