بحوث ومناقشات الندوة الفكرية التي نظمها مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية والمؤسسة العربية للديمقراطية ومركز الاتجاهات السياسية العالمية GPOT إستانبول. ومما جاء في تعريف الكتاب يعالج هذا الكتاب مسألتين محوريتين؛ الأولى، رصد وتقييم المتغيّرات الجذرية في الجانبين العربي والتركي، منذ أوائل التسعينيات من القرن المنصرم حتى نهاية العقد الأول من القرن الحادي والعشرين، والثانية، التأسيس لخطة عمل مستقبلي، يقوم على الواقعية المؤسساتية، من منظور تغليب النافع الاقتصادي، وتشريع العلاقات الحيوية التي تزيد من جدوى التعاون والتنسيق، على الصُعُد كافة. ضمن هذا التوجّه المسؤول، انعقدت بحوث هذا الكتاب تحت عنوان "العلاقات العربية – التركية: الحاضر والمستقبل" وهي في الأساس، وقائع الندوة التي نظّمها "مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية" و"المؤسسة العربية للديمقراطية" و"مركز الاتجاهات السياسية العالمية بإستانبول ( GPOT)" التي انعقدت بمدينة إستانبول في 21-22/11/2009؛ حيث جاءت بحوث الفريقين العربي والتركي معمّقة في المنظور الاستراتيجي العام، ومجالات التعاون والتنسيق السياسي على الصعيدين الإقليمي والدولي، وواقع وآفاق العلاقات الاقتصادية، ومسألة الهوية، والاتجاهات الدينية – السياسية، إضافة إلى مسألة الجيش والسلطة في تركيا والوطن العربي. وقد استصفى الحوار الختامي، في الندوة، أبرز ما جاء في البحوث والتعقيبات والمناقشات، مضيفاً إليها استخلاص العِبَر، واستنبات مفاهيم واقعية، ووظيفية، تسهم في تعزيز صدقية التعاون المتبادَل، وتطوّر مجالات العمل النافع المشترك، في ضوء الاستفادة من جيوبوليتيكا الموقع، والجوانب الصالحة من إرث التاريخ المشترك، إرادة التصدي للتهديدات والأخطار المحدقة، لكلا الفريقين العربي والتركي.
