انطلاقاً من حملة التشويش السياسية والأيديولوجية التي تطال العالم الإسلامي بثقافته وعقيدته، يحاول المؤلف رصد هذه المحاولة ومتابعة أسبابها وجذورها وأدواتها للوصول إلى قطع الطريق على القائمين على هذه الحملة التي تهدف إلى قطع الحاضر عن ماضي المسلمين عبر تقطيع الصلة العقيدية، التي تربط الإنسان المعاصر بتاريخه، وصولاً إلى عزل الجماعة عن الموروث وذلك لأنه بنظرهم هو العنصر الدائم الذي يثير المشاكل أمام سياسات التبعية. من هذا المنطلق يحاول المؤلف كشف الحقائق من خلال متابعاته لإبراز مسألة مهمة وهي أن الاحتجاج تقع مسؤوليته على الحاضر وليس الماضي، حيث يتحمل الحاضر المسؤولية في النتائج السلبية لمأساة العالم الإسلامي الذي يعاني من ازدواجية الهوية، وازدواجية الثقافة، وازدواجية الحياة حيث يجد المؤلف السبل إلى فك هذا التناقض الذي لا يكون بالقفز فوق هذه الازدواجية، ولا بإلغاء الماضي، ولكن المؤلف يجده حاضراً في تعديل الحاضر المأزوم وتصحيحه، ليستوي مجدداً على قاعدة متوازنة في العلاقات بين المجتمع والدولة.
