في مجموعته القصصية هذه يروي الكاتب عبد العزيز الفارسي، بواسطة راوٍ واحد عليهم، وحكايات الناس البسطاء في بلاده، وطريقة تفسيرهم لما يحدث، أمامهم من ظواهر وأمور، ولكل شخصية حكايتها المختلفة عن الأخرى. ويجمع بين الحكايات تزامنها، وتهاكنها أيضاً –حصولها في المكان- (شناص في عمان). والراوي الذي اختاره "الفارسي" لا يقدم الحكاية دفعة واحدة، بل يوزعها في أماكن متفرقة من الرواية. ويكون على القارئ جمع خيوطها كلما أوغل في القراءة، ففي حكاية الصندوق الرمادي، يفاجأ الناس بعمال الشركة يعلقون تلك الصناديق في مساحة ضيقة بين شارعين في شناص، فظن أحدهم أن صورة مولاه داخل الصندوق ولكنه لم يجدها فرد عليه آخر... أنت بعقلك؟ كيف تشوق صورة مولانا داخل صناديق معلقة بين الشاعرين والسيارات تخطف مثل الرصاص؟ يعني احنا ناقصين حوادث؟... تظن الحكومة ما تخاف علينا..." وبعد عملية أخذ ورد وهمس جاءهم الخبر اليقين من "محمد جزيرة" الذي بدأ يشرح لهم وجهة نظره وأهمية هذه الصناديق المعلقة التي سوف تسجل ما سيحدث على شاطئ الخليج في حال وقوع حرب بين إيران وأمريكا..... هذه سياسة يا جماعة.. إيران مسوية سلاح نووي... وأمريكا تضاربها ما تريدها تسوَي.. والسلاح النووي ما يحتاج شي.. بس يشغلوا المكينة ماله.. ويطير أي مكان في العالم ويضرب اللي يريدوه تصدقوا؟.. حبة النووي تعدم بلاد، الحين دول الخليج تحاتي.. سبحان الله.. يمكن باكر تصير حرب بين أمريكا وإيران.. وتطيش حبة نووي بالغلط على ساحل الخليج وتخلينا من صيد أمس.. عشان كذا هم حطوا هذي الصناديق الرمادية في شناص لأنها في وجه إيران..." وفي نهاية القصة يكتشف الجميع أن "... هذي صناديق رادار يا الأعمى... انترست البلاد رادارات"...
