الإمام محمد الجواد واحد من أهل بيت النبوة الذين فاقوا الناس طيب عنصر وزكاة ميلاد فلا أب كأبيه ولا جدود كجدوده ولا أسرة ولا عشيرة كأسرته وعشيرته. كانت ولادته سنة اختلاف الأمين والمأمون وقبل خلع الأمين ومبايعته أخيه بسنة واحدة. وكنيته أبو جعفر وأبو جعفر الثاني وأبو عبد الله وكنيته الخاصة أبو علي. ولقب بالجواد والتقي والرضي والمرضي والعالم والقانع والمختار والمرتضى والمتوكل والزكي. وفي هذا الكتاب يعرض المؤلف لسيرة الإمام المعجزة الجواد عليه السلام الذي جاء بالعجب العجاب في عهد طفولته وبهر عقول الناس في أيام صباه وفتوته وكان سيد الكلام ومصدر الأحكام رغم أنه لم يصل إلى عنفوان شبابه.
