رفيق حبيب هو مفكر مصري مسيحي من مواليد القاهرة سبتمبر 1959م، ينتسب إلى الطائفة الإنجيلية وهو نائب رئيس حزب الحرية والعدالة المنبثق من جماعة الإخوان المسلمين. يعد أحد المفكرين المعتدلين في مصر.
حصل رفيق على درجة ماجستير في الآداب تخصص علم نفس من كلية الآداب بجامعة عين شمس في 1985، ثم درجة دكتوراه الفلسفة في الآداب تخصص علم نفس اجتماعي من ذات الجامعة في 1988.
عين مستشارا في الفريق الرئاسي لمحمد مرسي واعتزل العمل السياسي احتجاجا على موقعة الاتحادية

تبلور مشهد الثورة الشعبية في مصر، كغيرها من دول الربيع العربي، حول مطالب عامة توافق عامة الناس عليها، ووجهت تلك المطالب نحو السلطة السياسية والدولة. وكشفت إرهاصات ما قبل الثورة الشعبية، عن تزايد المطالب والمظالم الشعبية، وتزايد رقعة ضحايا النظام السابق، بدرجة جعلت أغلب الناس تعاني من سياسات النظام السابق، إلا قلة محدودة، والتي تمثل النظام ومؤيديه والمتعاونين معه. ومع تراكم حالة الغضب تجاه النظام السياسي، تبلور هدف الثورة الشعبية في أيامها الأولى، نحو تغيير النظام. فأصبح شعار الشعب يريد اسقاط النظام، يختزل حالة الثورة كلها. فالمجتمع أدرك أنه ضحية النظام، لذا رأى أن النظام هو سبب ما حدث للدولة والمجتمع، وسبب كل ما يحدث من مظالم وتردي لأحوال المعيشة. فتوجهت جماهير الثورة نحو الأمل في حياة كريمة وعدالة اجتماعية وحرية، ورأت أن اسقاط النظام يحقق لها آمالها. وتركزت توجهات عامة الناس حول تغيير السلطة الحاكمة، ومن ثم تغيير النظام السياسي، على أساس أن هذا التغيير كافي في حد ذاته لتحقيق أهداف الثورة، التي هي مطالب عامة الناس. ورغم التباين بين المطالب الشعبية للفئات المختلفة من المجتمع، إلا أن الكل ركز على فكرة تغيير النظام، لتحقيق ما يصبو له من أحلام.
