يقدم في البحث الأول الدكتور أسامة قاضي عرضاً موجزاً عن النظام الاقتصادي [النظامين الاقتصاديين] الاشتراكي والرأسمالي، ثم يعرض آلية حدوث الدورات الاقتصادية في النظام الرأسمالي، ولماذا تحدث الأزمات التي تعتبر إحدى السمات الأساسية في هذا النظام، الذي يمر بمراحل النمو ثم التوسع فالذروة، فيعود للركود والانكماش والانهيار؟. ووضح أثر الاقتصاد الأمريكي في النظام الرأسمالي العالمي وفي الاقتصادات الأخرى في العالم. وبين كيف أن للعوامل الاقتصادية الداخلية في أمريكا دوراً كبيراً في حدوث الأزمات العالمية؛ من ارتفاع استهلاك الفرد، زيادة الاقتراض، زيادة المديونية العامة للدولة، تمركز الثروات بأيدي فئة قليلة من المجتمع على حساب السواد الأعظم، نمو الإنفاق العسكري، الخلل في توزيع الدخل والثروة، وكيف أثرت هذه العوامل في تفاقم الأزمة المالية والمصرفية على المستوى العالمي. كما استعرض طرق حل الأزمة، وقدم مقترحاً إسلامياً اقتصادياً بديلاً شرط أن يكون من ضمن مجموعة متكاملة من الإصلاحات التي تشمل الدولة كلها في أسلوب الحكم الرشيد، ودولة القانون، والديمقراطية، ويكون النظام الاقتصادي الإسلامي جزءاً من هذا النظام المتكامل. في البحث الثاني قدم الدكتور صموئيل عبود توصيفاً لسبب الأزمة وانفجارها وامتداداتها الجغرافية والاقتصادية، وبين الأسباب المالية للأزمة، والدواعي التي قادت إليها، وكيف امتدت لتشمل العالم بأكمله؟ (.) وحدد مسؤولية مصارف الإقراض والرهن العقاري في أمريكا من الأزمة؟ كما استعرض عوامل التشابه والاختلاف بين أزمة عام 1929م وأزمة عام 2008م. و الأثر التي انعكس على البلدان النامية والعربية. ووضح المقترحات المقدمة لكيفية الخروج من الأزمة، وما الآراء المتداولة حولها و مضمون خطة الإصلاح الأمريكية، وما تأثيرها على المستوى العالمي، وكيف سيتم تلافي حدوث أزمات مشابهة في المستقبل؟.
