روائي وكاتب لبناني.
له في الرواية "بناية ماتيلد" و"غناء البطريق" و"لعب حيّ البياض" و"ماكياج خفيف لهذه الليلة".
وفي القصّة "تحت شرفة أنجي" و"نزهة الملاك".
ترجمت رواياته إلى الإنكليزية والفرنسية والألمانية والإيطالية.
ولد حسن داوود سنة 1951، وهو يعمل صحفي في اليومية البيروتية "المستقبل"، درس الأدب العربي بالجامعة اللبنانية في بيروت.
ظهرت أوّل رواية له باللغة الفرنسية بعنوان "ضيعة ماتلدا" سنة 1998، وتبعتها رواية ثانية بعنوان "الأيام الأخيرة"، وهي دراسة نفسية عميقة حول الشيخوخة.

ظلّ مارون متابعاً ما يُكتب من مشاهد سيناريو "زوايا" حتى ليلة موته المفجع. شغله بطله مروان، الطيب العائد من فرنسا إلى بلده لبنان بعد عقدين على مغادرته. ربما كان ذلك لشبهٍ مع تجربته وتجربة العديد من اللبنانيين الذين أجبرتهم الحرب على قطع الصلة مع ماضيهم. كان السيناريو أمام مفترقات كثيرة: هل عاد مروان لكي ينهي ما تبقّى من صلة له هنا؟ هل عاد ليصل بين ما كانه وما هو عليه الآن؟ هل من أجل أن يصفّي حسابه مع قتلة أبيه وطارديه من بلده؟. هذه الاحتمالات بقيت كامنة كلها في ما كُتب من السيناريو غير المكتمل.
