بإيقاع سردي يخرج عن الأدوات والمعايير التقنية السائدة في كتابة القصة القصيرة تأتي مجموعة "أقصى الحديقة وقصص أخرى" للكاتبة العراقية ميسلون هادي، فتتناسل الحكايات وتنتقل في سهولة ويسر، وإذا صح التعبير، هي لا تتبع المسار التقليدي الذي ينطلق من نقطة معينة ويبلغ ذروة معينة يليها حلّ ما، بل نجدها تسرد الأحداث وتستعيدها في تجريبية واضحة، فيتلمس القارىء من خلال هذه التجريبية وهذا التناسل للحكايات مسارات عدة شخصيات ومصائرها. ولعل ما يرد على لسان الشخصيات من تهكم واضح إلى ما آلت إليه الحياة العصرية من متناقضات سواء على مستوى الإيديولوجيا السائدة أو الإستهلاك أو التكنولوجيا، تجعل من شخصيات كل قصة تتعامل مع العالم على طريقتها الخاصة. ففي القصة التي عنونت بها المجموعة (أقصى الحديقة) يمتلك بطل القصة (الموبايل) يرن ولا يرد عليه، بل يكتفي بالنظر إليه. "لماذا اشتريته لك، إذاً؟ لكي يرن من الواحد للعشرة (...) ألا تعرف كيف ترد؟ أي أعرف (...)!". كما نعثر في المجموعة على نصٍ تأمليٍ "صيحة الهامة" والهامة فراشة برية يعتقد العرب القدامى أنها تحوم فوق قبر القتيل غدراً وتصيح اسقوني .. اسقوني"، ولعل الكاتبة أرادت الإشارة إلى الكثير من الهوام الموجودة في عالمنا، تقول: " ... إن العجز عن تخيّل الهوام كما ينبغي، لا يعني أنها لا يمكن أن تكون موجودة حولنا أو أنها لا تستطيع التأثير في أفكارنا وأحلامنا وأجسامنا وعقولنا (...)". وعلى هذا الإيقاع تأتي قصص المجموعة متعددة الوجوه والأشكال، وكأن الكاتبة أرادت الإمساك بتلابيب الزمن الراهن وتثبيته بالسرد الروائي، ما يؤكد واقعيته السرد وصدقه الفني في آن.
تضم المجموعة خمسة وعشرين قصة قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: 1- تجلس في الصف الأخير تخرج قبل النهاية، 2- أقصى الحديقة، 3- من جنات جرمانه إلى جنات البط، 4- إنس الدنيا، 5- قبل ذلك سأكون، 6- خمسة عصافير بحجر (...) وقصص أخرى.
