لا ينتمي هذا الكتاب إلى التاريخ كما يرويه المؤرخون، ولا ينتسب إلى فن السيرة كما يسجلها أصحابها. هذا الكتاب بالمثنَّى: الأول، عن قضية، والثاني، عن رجل.. الأول عن أمة قاومت لانتزاع حريتها وتحقيق وحدتها وإنجاز استقلالها والتمتع بسيادتها، والثاني، عن قائدٍ من طرابلس، تولى خوض معارك القضية في المحافل والمؤتمرات، وفي قيادة المظاهرات في مدينة كانت طوع مواقفه ومبادئه.
هو كتاب عن عبد الحميد كرامي وقضيته. التزامه بها كلفه أثماناً ومنها شهامة القائد ونبل المقاصد، نفته فرنسا مرتين، كان أشدّها وطأ عليه إقامته في سراديب السجن في جزيرة أرواد، مع قادة العمل القومي في سورية، وأسره ثلاث مرات، كان آخرها إبّان معركة الاستقلال، فذاق طعم الظلم في قلعة راشيا.هو كتاب، يرصد مسار الحركة القومية النضالية ودور عبد الحميد كرامي فيها، ومواقفه التي سجلت بصوت مرتفع؛ رفض الانسلاخ عن الأمة فطرابلس هي طرابلس الشام ولو كانت في لبنان.
