"نني نني جاك النوم، أمك قمرة وبوك نجوم، ننّي ننّي جاك النوم، يا خدّ يد بوقرعون نني نني وصبّ دمعتك على كتفي وادفن خوفك في صدري بل أطو رجليك جيداً وألصقها على جدار بطني وجرّب العودة إلى إحشائي.. تنفّس في كآبتك وفجر كوابيسك بأعماقي فإن الأمهات لا يحتملن كثيراً أن يغدو أطفالهن سراً غامضاً. يتغلغل صوت الأم في روح الصبي ترتعش جفونه ثم لا تلبث أن تذبل وتستسلم للنعاس. تتأمل سعاد وجهه الملائكي بأسى عميق. ترتب شعره النثيث على جبينه وتواصل ترنيمتها الحزينة ثم تتوقف فجأة وتهمس لنفسها: ليتني أعرف يا ولدي أي الدروب سلكت مخيلتك حتى أجنبك درب الكوابيس، هكذا همست بطلة قصة صهيل الأسئلة في أذن طفلها الفاقد لحنان والده، اللاهث وراء ملذاته وحياته تاركاً أطفاله في مهب الرياح العاتية التي تضرب كل ما تصادفه أمامها". وهكذا همست الروائية "رشيدة الشارني" ولكن بصوت أقوى وعبر عبارت قوية في آذان قراء قصصها المجتمعة في مجموعتها الأخيرة "صهيل الأسئلة" هذه المجموعة المتعانقة المواضيع والتي تروي حكايات من واقع المجتمع التي تعيشه فيه الروائية، مجتمع تتجلى فيه الخيانة بأبشع صورها، وتتجلى فيه المادية المعاصرة التي تغلغلت في دقائق حياة الناس.
