تجيء هذه الشهادة حارة من قلب حار عاصر الحدث وعاشه لحظه بلحظه، قطره بقطره وقذيفة بقذيفة. يخط يحيى يخلف في مؤلفه هذا سيرة شعب يُظهر فيها جبروت المحتل ومعاناة وصمود الشعب الفلسطيني البطل عبر سير حقيقية شكلت بفسيفسائية جميلة وخلابة رغم الحطام والدمار عملاً إبداعياً رائع، يؤرخ ويوثق لانتفاضة الأقصى المبارك وصمود لشعب وتحديه لآلة الحرب الهمجية الشارونيه، والوقوف في وجهها بكل بطولة وبسالة في الضفة الغربية وخاصة في مخيم جنين الخالد، وقائد المقاومة فيه الشهيد المناضل (أبو جندل)، والذي كان استشهاده عملاً ضخماً بكلّ ما تحله هذه الكلمة من معاني الكبرياء والعبرة. ويبقى يحيى بخلف في يومياته هذه –كما هو دوماً- روائياً كبيراً وعاشقاً قوياً لربيع فلسطين الذي تتفتح وروده للحياة رغم الرصاص والدخان وخطر التجول.
