للغة الروسية وقع خاص على أذن المتلقي، تنفرد به عن جميع لغات العالم، فموسيقاها تنبعث من كل كلمة فيها، محدثة لدى سامعها الشعور بالانتقال إلى رحاب السهول الروسية الفسيحة والغابات السيبيرية الفريدة.
لقد كانت وما تزال اللغة الروسية واحدة من أهم اللغات في العالم، بحيث اعتمدتها الأمم المتحدة كلغة رسمية لها.
إن عدد الدارسين والمتحدثين باللغة الروسية يزداد يوماً بعد يوم، إما بسبب الدراسة في روسيا أو بلدان الاتحاد السوفيتي السابق، التي اعتمدت اللغة الروسية في مناهجها الدراسية أو بسبب العمل هناك، وعلى الرغم من ذلك فإنه ومنذ عام 1981 لم يصدر أي قاموس روسي-عربي أو عربي-روسي مما أدى إلى نقص حاد فيها لدى الدارسين وكذلك لدى المكتبات مما حذا بنا إلى إعداد هذا القاموس عله يؤدي بالفائدة للراغبين بتعلم اللغة الروسية.
يحتوي هذا القاموس على أكثر من ثلاثين ألف كلمة التي اقتصر مضمونها على الكلمات الأدبية والمعيشية الأكثر شيوعاً، وكذلك لم يتم تضمين هذا القاموس بالكلمات ذات مضمون تخصصي صرف لأن هذا من مهام المعاجم المتخصصة.
أعد هذا القاموس حسب التبويب الأبجدي الدقيق للغة الروسية، والتي يبلغ عدد أحرفها الأبجدية ثلاثة وثلاثين حرفاً.
