تؤسس العولمة لفضاء استهلاكي يذرر العالم الى سلع وخدمات ورأس مال. وتشرعن خطابها النيو ليبرالي عبر احتفالية مزهوة بدعاوى: القرية الكونية, والمكاسب المؤكدة, للبلدان النامية من العولمة. وفي ظل سعي العناصر المعولمة, سلع, وخدمات, ورأس مال, لاحتواء العالم, يستمر الترويض والتدجين لقبول الاتساع المتزايد للفجوة بين الفقر والغنى, وإشادة جزر الرفاه و ممالك الثروة المحروسة بضحايا العنف الاقتصادي وإكراه الريع الملايين من هذا العالم. فيما يستمر زحف العولمة في القرن المقبل, على غرار كهذا. فلن ينتظر الدول النامية غير الفقر أكثره, ومزايا العولمة أقلها. فالسلع ورأس المال تمر على هذه الدول لماما تخلف وراءها ضحايا الارتزاق الحضاري. وبإستثناء الدول الصناعية المتقدمة جدا, فمن النادر أن يكون هناك رابحون من العولمة. وإذا ما احتسبت المرء التدفقات التجارية للعشرين سنة المقبلة. سيلاحظ انخفاض مساهمة: أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط وأمريكا اللاتينية وروسيا وأوربة الشرقية من 39.2% عام 1970 الى 2604% عام 1990 ثم إلى 5% لعام 2020. إنه تمعين العولمة في تخليع العالم وتفكيكه, ثم بنائه من جديد على الطريقة الأمريكية. إعادة انتاج التفاوتالاجتماعي والتوزيع اللامتكافئ للخيرات في هذا العالم. إقصاء للمهمشين والصعاليك الذين يحرسون نسبة قليلة من لاعبي العولمة ومنتفعيها, هناك في الدول الصناعية, وهنا في الدول النامية وعلى أشده. ويبحث هذا الكتاب في فصوله ما يلي: عصر العولمة، الكذبات العشر للعولمة، بدائل وخيارات واقعية.
