نبذة النيل والفرات: "هذا هو الحب" ديوان شعري يحتوي على المختار من شعر الدكتور "عباس العباسي الطائي" الفصيح والعمودي والحر. يضم الديوان ستون قصيدة ونيّف جاءت مزيج ما بين الشعر الديني والوطني والقومي، والرومانسي كذلك. وفيه تعبير صادق عن تجربة شاعر ملتاع تجرّع المرارة بكل أنواعها وقاساها وتحسسها في مسامات شعبه الأهوازي فعبّر عنها بما أوتي من ثقافة "طففتها" عليه السياسة القمعية العنصرية البهلوية الشاهنشاهيّة "تطفيف بخس" بل حرمته من أبسط ما يتمتع به ناطق بلسان أمه ... يجمع الديوان مواقف الشاعر على الصعيد السياسي والإجتماعي فقد عرف بدفاعه عن حقوق المرأة ونلمس هذا مما جاء في شعره وخصوصاً في قصيدتي "عروس النار" و "الصمت الرهيب" وغيرهما. لقد جمع شاعرنا الطائي عناصر الرومانسية والرمزية بأسلوب لا تكلف فيه: ففي قصيدة بعنوان "دمع النجوم" يقول: أبسطي كفّك لنجمع فيها / قطرات الندى من الأوراق ، فهي، دمع النجوم، يُسكب ليلاً / حسرات للوعة العشاق. أما في شعره الديني فقد كان صادق اللهجة جياش العاطفة، نسمعه يهيم حباً في مدح النبي الأكرم صلى الله عليه وسلم حيث يقول: وغرامي به قديم قديم / من قديم الأزمان والآباد ، يوم كنا في عالم الذّر نوراً / يوم قلنا: بلى لرب العباد. أما شعره الوطني والقومي، فهو الدليل على حبه لوطنه وأرضه وأهله، فها هو يشدو في قصيدة "راعية النجوم": قالت: كفاك عناءً لست منفرداً / فالناس حولك في عيش وفي جذل ، قلت: أعذريني، فليس العيش ملعبة / لا عشت في جذلٍ والأهل في نكل ، هم÷ أهل أراضي، وعرضي هم بنو وطني / أعيش من أجلهم، في القول والعمل. "هذا هو الحب" كتب بقلم يعشق الحياة فكانت مضامينه دعوة صادقة للحياة مقابل دعوات الموت الكثيرة فجاء العمل من أوله إلى آخره قصيدة حب.
