بعْضَ هذه الفصُول، بلْ أكثرها، لمْ ينشر في السابق، لا في مَجلاتٍ، ولا في صُحُف. فالمبحث الموسوم بعنوان \\\" اللسانياتُ بيْنَ النظريّة والتطْبيقِ \\\" استغرق جمْع أفكاره، وضبْطُ مَسائله، نحْوَ فصل دراسيّ جامعيّ، وفيه إجابة شافيَة وافيَة عنْ كثير من التساؤلاتِ التي تتصلُ باكتِسابِ اللُغة، وبالتعلُّم الذاتيّ، وبالمَهارات، وباضطراباتِ النطق، واللسان، وبالترجَمة، وبالتخطيط اللغويّ، وإعداد المَعَاجم المُتخصّصَةِ، والعامّة، وبالمُختبر اللغوي، على سبيل الاخْتصار والتكثيف، بعيدًا عن التطويل والحَشْو. كذلك، ثمَّة عرْضٌ لمفهوم اللسانيات. وعرْضٌ لآراء شومسْكي في اللغة، يتضمنُ بَسْطًا موجزًا لنظريّةِ النحْو التوليدي- التحْويليّ، ينتفع به طلبةَ الدراساتِ اللغويّة بوَضْعٍ خاصّ. وفي الكتابِ فُصولٌ أخرى عنْ الكفايَةِ اللغويّة، واضْطراباتِ النُطْقِ، والقراءَة. ودراسَةٌ إحْصائيّة حوْلَ تواتُر صِيَغِ جمْع الأسْماء في نحو اثنتينِ وثلاثينَ قصّةً للأطفال، بهَدَفِ الوُقوفِ على أكثر الصيَغ تواترًا، ومقابلَتِها بالصّيَغ الأخْرى، ولا سيّما النادِرَةِ التواتُر، تهذيبًا للدَّرْسِ الصرْفيّ، والكتابِ المَدْرَسيّ. ولا يَخْلو الأمرُ منْ أدَبٍ وشيجِ الصّلةِ باللُغةِ، واللّغويِّاتِ، إذ يَجدُ القارئ فُصولا عن جماليّاتِ اللغَة، ووظائفها البَلاغيّة، في الشعْر خاصَّة، القديم منهُ، والحَديث. وعلى الرغْمِ منْ اختلافِ وُجُهاتِ النظَر في الدّلالَةِ اللُغويّة، وإشكاليّةِ العَلاقة بينَ اللفظِ والمَعْنى، فإنّ الشيءَ الذي لا مِرْية فيهِ، ولا رَيْبَ، أنّ الدلالاتِ في الشعْر خاصّةٌ، لا عَامّة. ومن هذا الباب ما يقف عليه القارئ من إعادَةِ النظَر في مُوسيقى الشعْرِ العَرَبيّ، وتناوُلهِا تناوُلا جَديدًا، مثيرًا للجَدَل،لا منْ بابِ الوَزْن، وإنما منْ بابِ النبْر، الذي بَسَط فيه المُسْتشرق الفرنسيُّ ستانْسلاسْ جْوَيّار القول؛ ففي الكتاب عرَضْ لأفْكارهِ هذهِ، ومناقشة لنظريَّتهِ تلكَ، على ما فيها من إيجابيّاتٍ، ومنْ سَلبيّات.
