ملحمة روائية بطلها محسن، شاب يحلم أحلاماً تختلف عن أحلام الناس.. يسافر من بلده إلى عمان للتدريس، فيلتقي أشخاصاً يصبحون أصدقاؤه، وهناك أيضاً يلتقي بالجدة التي كان يراها في أحلامه، لتبدأ معها الملحمة. كانت تلك الجدة تنتظره منذ زمن لتقدم إليه وصية جده وتراثه.. تراثه المتمثل بالكتب التي شرع يقرؤها، يتعلم منها الحكمة، ويتعرف من خلالها على حياة جده، يتعرض محسن لأحداث مثيرة وشائقة في أثناء إقامته يعمان.. منها مقتل حمدان، ومشكلة العقارب وأذاها ومشكلة المهاجرين الذين يغامرون بالسفر خلسة لكسب لقمة العيش، وحكاية الشاب الذي قتلته زوجة أبيه ظلماً، فظل يتردد على المنطقة عينها عشرين سنة، وحادثة العجوز التي أحبت زوجها خالداً حباً جماً، فحملت في عمر متقدم لا تحمل فيه النساء عادةَ. تصل الأحداث إلى الذروة حين تداهم محسناً عاصفة هوجاء، فتطيح بسيارته في منطقة مجهولة وهو بصحبة صديقه وابن صديقه.. يستيقظ الثلاثة على حلم واحد هو نزولهم عند عرب كانوا يحاربون البرتغال... وبعد إنقاذهم يقرر محسن العودة إلى تلك المنطقة، حيث يكتشف جثثاً كثيرة، وأشياء غامضة. تبدأ خيوط الملحمة بالتلاشي حين يقرر محسن الدخول في نفق الزمن، ليصل إلى عام 2013، فيرى مالا يسر العين ولا يرضي النفس.
