إنني أخط هذا الكتاب لأن جورج بوش الصغير ومالكي النظام العالمي الجديد يريدون أن يفرضوا قيمهم عليّ وعلى العالم كله. ولطالما كنت أودّ أن أدع قيمهم وشأنها لولا أنهم لم يدعوني وشأني. إنني على اطلاع واسع بالقيم الغربية؛ ذلك أنني عايشتها لما يقرب من الخمسين عاماً، أي ما يقارب ربع عمر الجمهورية الأميركية نفسها. لقد تم اختطاف الجمهورية الأميركية وتمّ تبديل قيمها التي جاء بها دستورها والأوائل من مؤسسيها، واستبدلت تلك القيم العظيمة التي تدعو إلى الحرية والديمقراطية والعدالة بقيم مادية وضعها وول ستريت WallStreet وأصحابه من البارونات اللصوص. إن الرسالة التي يحملها هذا الكتاب في ثناياه هي أن الصراع ليس قائماً في أساسه بين الإسلام والغرب، بل هو بين البارونات اللصوص في الولايات المتحدة وفي كل أصقاع العالم وبين بقية العالم. إذ تجمع هؤلاء البارونات مصالح مشتركة فيما بينهم أكثر من تلك التي تجمعهم مع أبناء جلدتهم. ومع تقلص دور الدول القومية، تقلصت الأدوار التي يلعبها القادة والبارونات الإقليميون في بلدانهم، فأصبح هؤلاء مجرد حرّاس ينفذون الأجندة التي يرسمها البارونات عبر القطريين. إن مصالح السواد الأعظم من الشعب في كل دولى تتوازى مع المصالح والاهتمامات ذاتها في العالم، كما يتشارك البارونات المحليون المصالح نفسها مع بعض ومع البارونات عبر القطريين أكثر بكثير مما يتشاركون مع المصالح الوطنية لشعوبهم.
