يعرف عن يفجيني بريماكوف الذي شغل مناصب هامة وكبيرة في الاتحاد السوفيتي السابق -أنه ظل وقتاً طويلاً يمسك بمفاتيح "خوانة أسرار العلاقات الدولية" فمن بغداد وهبر طهران حيث نيران الحرب، إلى واشنطن ومن شنغهاي مروراً بطوكيو. كان بريكاكوف يتجول في دروب السياسة مجتازاً بمهارة حقول الألغام فيها، نجح مرات عدة... وفي مرات غير قليلة شعر بخيبة أمل. ويعطي كتابه (حقول ألغام السياسة) عرضاً شاملاً لحياته ودخوله معترك الحياة الصحفية والسياسية ومشاركته في كثير من الأحداث السياسية الهامة في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين ومطلع القرن الحادي والعشرين. وأعتقد أن هذا الكتاب سيمنح القارئ الفرصة للتعرف على خفايا أروقة السياسة الروسية والعالمية، ودور بريماكوف في هذه الأحداث. إن أهم الخصال المميزة لهذه الشخصية السياسية هي الاستقامة والالتزام بالمبدأ والدفاع عن المصالح الوطنية. ولم يعرف عنه تورطه في أي فضائح سياسية وغيرها. وقد فشل خصومه من الأوليجاركيين في اتهامه بأي خرق للقوانين أو الفساد، ولم يجدوا تهمة أخرى توجه له حين كان رئيساً للوزراء سوى كونه (من رجال المخابرات) والتي تتلاقفها الصحافة الغربية باستمرار. لكنه يبقى بالنسبة للعالم العربي المدافع الصلب عن قضايا الشعوب العربية، ولن نجد نظيراً له في هذا المضمار في أي بلد أوربي آخر.
