نضع بين أيدي القراء الأعزاء الطبعة الأولى من كتاب "التربية الخاصة المعاصرة " لرغبتنا الملحة في إلقاء الضوء على تلك القضايا والتي نعتقد بأنها لم تلقَ مزيداً من الاهتمام في الوطن العربي على الرغم من إثبات نجاعتها في الدول التي سبقتنا في مجال رعاية وخدمات ذوي الحاجات الخاصة بعيداً عن التخبطات والاستمرار في التعامل التقليدي مع هذه الفئة، وتحديداً سعى الكتاب بفصوله الأربعة إلى تناول تلك القضايا كما يلي: الفصل الأول: تطرق إلى "الخدمات المقدمة للمسنين ذوي الإعاقة في ضوء المعايير العالمية"، الفصل الثاني: بحث قضية " التدخل المبكر في التربية الخاصة " الفصل الثالث: فقد بين المؤلفان فيه "فئة الموهوبين ذوي صعوبات التعلم" الفصل الرابع: استعرض هذا الفصل "التعلم من خلال اللعب والأطفال ذوي الحاجات الخاصة" وأخيراً إننا ونحن نضع جهدنا المتواضع هذا بين أيديكم نتمنى أن يستفيد منه الجميع، وأن نكون قد ألقينا الضوء على آخر المستجدات الحديثة في مجال التربية الخاصة وأوضحناها بشكل سلس علمياً وعملياً، آملين أن يحوز هذا الجهد المتواضع على الرضا والقبول ويكون مفيداً بقدر ما تمنينا له أن يكون مرجعاً مفيداً لكل من المهتمين والعاملين في مجال رعاية وتربية ذوي الحاجات الخاصة
