الزواج وأبعاده لا تنحصر في سن معينة أو مرحلة محددة أو بطريقة فكرية مباشرة. فالإنسان يبدأ بالتعرف على هذه العلاقة منذ أن يفتح عينية على هذا العالم وفي أغلب الأحيان بالطرق غير المباشرة التي تدخل إلى أعماق وعيه أو إلى ما يعبر عنه باللاوعي الكامن في أعماقه. وتكون النتيجة أن يصعب طرح الرأي أو الموقف الأصيل للإسلام، وخصوصاً إذا أضفنا عاملاً آخر ينشأ من توهم أن العديد من جوانب قضيتنا مما يمكن أو يحق للناس وضع أنظمته وقوانينه. وبالتالي تظهر المشكلة والتي هي كيف يمكننا أن نعرض الرؤية الإسلامية الأصلية ونوصلها إلى المتدينين بالإضافة إلى القضاء على الكثير من الشبهات والأوهام التي تحيط بالزواج.
وإن إيجاد حل لهذه المسألة هي التي دفعت المؤلف "حسين قازان" إلى إعداد هذا الكتاب الذي هو ليس إلا محاولة وسعي من المؤلف لتقويم الأبعاد الأخلاقية والسلوكية والمعاني الروحية للزواج وذلك من خلال اعتماده على لغة الواقع والحياة. وبصورة عامة جاءت مادة الكتاب موزعة على ثلاثة فصول هي: الفصل الأول: الزواج ثماره وأهدافه وفيه عرض المؤلف لمعنى الزواج، وثماره وأوانه، الفصل الثاني: موانع على طريق الزواج وفيه تحدث عن الموانع التي تدفع الإنسان إلى الامتناع عن الزواج والاستقرار كالفقر، والاستمرار بالدراسة، فقدان الشريك ومعارضة الوالدين، الفصل الثالث: من أختار شريكاً لحياته وفيه يتناول المؤلف المسائل الآتية بالبحث والتدقيق: صفات الشريك الصالح، صفات الفتاة الصالحة، صفات الشاب الصالح.
