رولان بارت (بالفرنسية: Roland Barthes) فيلسوف فرنسي، ناقد وكاتب أدبي، دلالي، ومنظر اجتماعي.
وُلد في شيربورج بفرنسا 12 نوفمبر 1915 وتُوفي في باريس في 25 مارس 1980، واتسعت أعماله لتشمل حقولاً فكرية عديدة.
اشتهر بدراساته البنيوية والسيميائية وترك أثرا واسعا على الدراسات النقدية الأدبية.
وقد أثر في تطور مدارس عدة كالبنيوية والماركسية وما بعد البنيوية والوجودية، بالإضافة إلى تأثيره في تطور علم الدلالة.
تتوزّع أعمال رولان بارت بين البنيوية وما بعد البنيوية، فلقد انصرف عن الأولى إلى الثانية أسوة بالعديد من فلاسفة عصره ومدرسته.
كما أنه يعتبر من الأعلام الكبار - إلى جانب كل من ميشيل فوكو وجاك دريدا وغيرهم - في التيار الفكري المسمّى ما بعد الحداثة.
تعلم بارت في جامعة باريس ومارس التدريس في عدة مؤسسات جامعية فرنسية منها المركز الوطني للأبحاث العلمية والمدرسة التطبيقية للدراسات العليا، وفي عام 1976اختير ليشغل أول كرسي للسيميائية الأدبية في الكوليج دي فرانس.
ترك بارت العديد من المؤلفات والمقالات التي نشر بعضها بعد وفاته.
ومن أشهرها الكتابة عند درجة الصفر (1953)؛ أساطير (1957)؛ مقالات نقدية (1964)، بالإضافة إلى دراسة عن الكاتب الفرنسي راسين، وكتابين حول سيرته الذاتية هما: رولان بارت بقلم رولان بارت (1975)؛ خطاب العاشق (1977).
وفي هذه الكتب تتضح شخصية بارت المتعددة الجوانب والاهتمامات سواء في بداياته الشكلانية أو في توجهه للبنيوية ورفضه لها واهتمامه بدراسة العلامات في الثقافة وكيفية تفسيرها، أو ما يعرف بالسيميائية.
وقد ترجم الكثير من هذه الأعمال إلى العديد من اللغات منها اللغة العربية.
