تسلط هذه المذكرات الضوء على الإخوان المسلمين في الضفة الغربية وتأسيس حركة حماس، وعلى بعض أوجه الاجتهاد في العمل بين قادة الإخوان في الضفة الغربية في القضايا المختلفة. وتُظهر المذكرات أن حركة الإخوان المسلمين، تميزت عن غيرها من الحركات الإسلامية المعاصرة بالانفتاح على كل جديد، والاستعداد للمراجعة والتجديد؛ وأن التزامها بالشورى يعصمها من الانحراف عن خطها الوسطي. وينتقل الدكتور مسودي في مذكراته بالقارئ من مرحلة إلى أخرى من تاريخ الجماعة في فلسطين، بدءاً بمرحلة النشأة التي كان والده ممن لهم دور مهم فيها، مروراً بمراحل النضج والانتقال من مستوى العمل الثقافي والاجتماعي إلى مستويات غير مسبوقة من المقارعة والنزال في ميدان السياسة والجهاد؛ حيث كان له فيها دور بارز، موجهاً، وقائداً، ومربياً. وبلا شك، فلا غنى عن هذا الكتاب لكل المعنيين بالدراسات الفلسطينية، وبالتاريخ الفلسطيني المعاصر، وخصوصاً تاريخ جماعة الإخوان المسلمين.
