في هذا الكتاب يجمع الأستاذ "سعيد رشيد زميزم" مجموعة هامة من أقوال نخبة من القياديين والمفكرين من مختلف الألوان والديانات واللغات ليقولوا قولهم ورأيهم عن هذه الشخصية الفذة التي عرفها التاريخ البشري ألا وهي شخصية "الإمام الحسين" سبط الرسول الأعظم صلى الله عليه وسلم وسيد شباب أهل الجنة. يقول المؤلف في كتابه هذا: نحن أمام شخصية لو إجتمع كل مفكري العالم وعباقرتهم ما إستطاعوا أن يؤدوا حق ذلك اليوم الذي وقف فيه وخُيّر بين السلة والذلة فقال: (هيهات منا الذلة). نحن أمام شخصية لو أراد كل فلاسفة الكون أن يجتمعوا وينظروا ما فعله الحسين لما إستطاعوا أن يكتشفو جوهر حقيقة قيامه. لقد قام مؤلف هذا الكتاب بجمع وربط خيوطه خلال سنين، وتم عرضه في معرض الزائرين بين الحرمين في كربلاء الشهادة ليكون منبراً وطريقاً للنهضة الحسينية تنهل فيه الأجيال اللاحقة. وفيما يلي نقتبس بعضاً مما قاله كبار المفكرين والقادة في الإمام الحسين عليه السلام. جابر الأحمد الصباح: أحد أمراء دولة الكويت الراحلين، قال كلمته المذكورة عند زيارته لمرقد الإمام الحسين، "كان الإمام الحسين مثلاً أعلى يحتذى به بسبب الأفكار النيرة التي كان يحملها والتي إستشهد من أجلها". المفكر عباس محمود العقاد كاتب مصري كبير له العشرات من المؤلفات والبحوث القيمة، خدم الثقافة العربية وظل يرويها بآرائه وأفكاره الصائبة حتى رحل عن هذه الدنيا "إن مصرع الإمام الحسين هو الدار القاتل الذي سكن جثمان الدولة الأموية حتى قضى عليها". الشاعر فيكتور هيجو: من أشهر شعراء فرنسا بشكل خاص وأوروبا بشكل عام. "أصبحت مبادئ الثورة الحسينية منهجاً لكل ثائر يريد أن ينتزع حقه من ظالميه".
