دانيال بناك أو دانيال بناكشيوني هو كاتب وروائي وكاتب أطفال فرنسي كبير.
ولد في مدينة كازابلانكا المغربية في العام 1944 في أسرة عسكرية.
قضى طفولته متنقلاً بين أفريقيا وآسيا.
بدأ مشواره بالكتابة للطفل.
الغريب أن دانيال بناك كان تلميذاً بليداً وعانى الأمرّيْن طوال فترة تعليمه لكن الأقدار وعلى الرغم من ذلك شاءت أن يصبح مُدرساً.
ولأنه أحد أشهر الكُتاب والمبدعين الفرنسيين فقد حصل في عام 1990 على جائزة الكتاب العالمي عن كتابه "بائعة النثر الصغيرة".
كما حصل في عام 2005 على جائزة الأدب في الكتابة للطفل عن كتابه عين الذئب.
كذلك حصل في عام 2007 على جائزة رينودو عن روايته حزن مدرسي.
وحصل في العام 2008 على الجائزة الزرقاء الكبرى عن مجمل أعماله.
وما زال يواصل عطاءه الإبداعي.
