إنطلاقاً من ذلك يمكن القول أن إقتصاد العمل يهتم بقوة العمل ومكوناتها في المجتمع ويقرر مدى توافقها كماً ونوعاً مع متطلبات درجة التقدم الإقتصادي.
وعليه، فإن الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا (إقتصاديات العمل) يصب في هذا الإتجاه وهو محاولة من المؤلفان لأن يسد نقصاً خطيراً في المكتبة العربية وبداية متواضعة نأمل منها أن تفتح الطريق لمحاولات أخرى بحثاً وتأليفاً وتدريساً وأن يكون هذا الكتاب منهجاً أمام الطالب الأكاديمي وباحث العلم وأن يكون دليلاً أمام أصحاب الأعمال ومؤسسات الدولة الإقتصادية.
وتضمن هذا الكتاب سبعة فصول ركزت على دراسة وتحليل أساسيات إقتصاديات العمل المتعلقة بالمفاهيم الأساسية لهذه المادة وشرح نظريات أجور العمل وعرض العمل والطلب عليه والبطالة والإستخدام وإنتاجية العمل والعوامل المؤثرة فيها وأخيراً التركيز على موضوع السكان وتخطيط القوى العاملة.
