السؤال الإجتماعي بما هو تعرية المظاهر المصطنعة والأساليب الملتوية في مجتمع المال والأعمال هو ما ترصده رواية "أما رانث" للروائي وسيم عازب بتسليطها الضوء على جملة من العلاقات الإجتماعية (المصلحية) داخل شركة عالمية للخدمات اللوجستية في بلد عربي. وبشخصيات ووقائع وأحداث تمت إلى العصر الراهن تلك التي يكون فيها الناس على استعداد للتضحية بمبادئهم من أجل الوصول لأفضل مكانة. يتمظهر ذلك في الرواية عبر تقديم المهندس هشام الشخصية الرئيسية في الرواية والشخصيات الأخرى، التنازلات لقوى الأمر الواقع بهدف الحصول على فرصة أفضل، حيث يقوم بتوظيف "مرام" في الشركة التي يديرها لأن أباها مستثمر محتمل في مشروع التوسعة الجديد، الذي يحلم بإدارته ولا بد من تقديم شيء من أجل أن تحصل على شيء في المقابل!".
في هذا الفضاء الروائي من "سلطة" ، و "قوة" ، و "منصب" يكشف الروائي عن عوامل نجاح بعض الأشخاص في الحياة في مقابل فشل البعض الآخر، ويطرح مسائل على غاية من الأهمية مثل كيف تقتل فكرة جالت في بالك، وكيف تخلص نفسك من سيطرة وسطوة أفكار يمكن أن تحكم طريقة تفكيرك ونظرتك إلى الحياة، وكيف يمكن أن تسيطر على شعورك وأحاسيسك أثناء موقف معين ... إلى آخر ذاك من أفكار طرحها عبر شخصيات العمل وقام بتوصيلها إلى القارىء، بلغة يغلب فيها السرد على الحوار، تقول الوقائع وتترفع عن الإنشاء، تؤثر البساطة ولا تسقط في التعقيد، وتسمي الأشياء بإسمائها وتبتعد عن مواربة الأدب وتورياته، وبذلك يكون وسيم عازب قدم أثراً روائياً فريداً في مادته وموضوعه.
