يحتل اتساق النص وانسجامه موقعاً مركزياً في الأبحاث والدراسات التي تندرج في مجالات تحليل الخطاب، ولسانيات الخطاب/النص، وعن النص، وعلم النص، حتى أننا لا نكاد نجد مؤلفاً، ينتمي إلى هذه المجالات، خالياً من هذين المفهومين (أو من أحدهما)، أو من المفاهيم المرتبطة بهما كالترابط والتعالق وما شاكلهما. فمنذ سبعينات هذا القرن بدأ الاهتمام بهذين المفهومين يتزايد حتى أن القارئ المتتبع للمؤلفات الصادرة، المنتمية إلى المجالات السالفة الذكر، يجد أنها لا تكاد تخلو من تعميق لمسألة انسجام النص/الخطاب مع إغناء ملحوظ للدراسة بتخصصات متنوعة من قبيل علم الاجتماع وعلم النفس اللسانيين، والمنطق وعلم النفس المعرفي، والذكاء الاصطناعي، واللسانيات التحسيبية وما إليها. إلا أن الدراسات الغربية لانسجام النص/الخطاب ركزت على نوعين خطابيين: التخاطب والسرو (التقليدي) البسيط الذي يسير تحت مجرى حدثي نمطي، وقد دفعت هذه الحقيقة المؤلف إلى طرح السؤال الذي يروم الإجابة عنه في هذا البحث: كيف ينسجم الخطاب الشعري الحديث؟ هل تكفي الأدوات والمفاهيم المقترحة من قبل الغربيين لدراسة-وصف انسجام الخطاب الشعري الحديث؟ وقد اقتضت الإجابة تطرق المؤلف إلى مواضيع مختلفة جاءت ضمن أبواب الكتاب الثلاثة. خصص الباب الأول لعرض مجمل المقترحات الغربية، وكان الباب الثاني محاولة مساهمة في الإجابة عن سؤال مشروع: ألا يمكن أن نجد في التراث العربي المرتبط أساساً بالممارسة النصية مساهمات قابلة لأن تدرج في لسانيات الخطاب بصفة عامة؟ وفي انسجام الخطاب بصفة خاصة؟ وهكذا حصر الباحث اهتمامه في البلاغة والنقد الأدبي والتفسير لأسباب ذكرها في مقدمة هذا الباب وأما الباب الثالث والأخير من هذا البحث فقد خصص لتحليل نص شعري حديث "فارس الكلمات الغريبة" للشاعر "علي أحمد سعيد أدونيس". وقد كان هدف الباحث المركزي من هذا الباب اختبار المفاهيم التي اقترحها الغربيون لوصف انسجام النص/الخطاب. لهذا الفرض تم إلحاق تلك المفاهيم بمستويات وصفية، وكذا بالنسبة للمعطيات التي استخلصها الباحث من الممارسة النصية العربية، وذلك من أجل صياغة إطار نظري يمكن من مقاربة انسجام الخطاب الشعري المرام تحليله وهو كما أسلفنا النص الشعري للشاعر أدونيس "فارس الكلمات الغريبة".
