Book Description
تعود "ماري بث" إلى بلدتها الصغيرة بعد أن هجرتها عدة سنين لتبتعد عن مطاردة صديقها مع إحدى صديقاتها، ولكن صديقتها تتركها في المدينة الكبيرة وتفصل من عملها. تذهب بعد وصولها لبلدتها مباشرة لتقديم طلب عمل في البنك، ولكن لسوء الحظ يسطو على البنك لصان ويحبسان معظم الموجودين في البنك سواها وهي وشخص كان يقف عند خزانة البنك. يجبر اللصان الشاب على وضع النقود في جوال ولكنه يرفض فتح الخزانة لأن رقمها السري مع المدير الذي غادر البنك. فجأة تسمع صفارات سيارات الشرطة ويحتجز اللصان الجميع رهائن. ويربطان الشاب والشابة بقيود معصميهما وقدميهما وكل منهم في ظهر الآخر، ثم يحبسانهما في دولاب. كانت "ماري بث" قد تعلمت فنون مقاومة اللصوص عن طريق والدها مأمور الشرطة المتقاعد وتتمكن من السيطرة على اللصين وتنقذ الرهائن وزميلها الذي يتضح فيما بعد أنه هو مدير البنك الجديد وصاحبه والذي ورثه عن جده.
