هي رواية أقرب للسيرة الذاتية، الغلاف لوحة فسيفسائية من أعمال الكاتبة نفسها، تجسد عازفة ناي، كادت تسمعنا موسيقا عزفها، مشغولة بتقنية عالية الإحساس بألوان هادئة تعبر عنها.
الرواية مقسّمة إلى عدّة فصول، وكلِّ فصلِ يحكي قصة تنتهي بعبرة، وبعنوان منفصل، وبأسلوب سرد غير منقطع، مما يجعل القارئ يتابع القراءة رغبة منه بمعرفة آخر الأحداث.
لم يشكّل التسلسل الزمنيّ للسيرة الذاتية آية عقبة في فهم الرواية فيما لو قرأنا كل فصلٍ على حدى.
أسلوب الكاتبة ريم عطا الله، بسيط، سلس، غنيّ بالوصف والتصوير بالكلمات، لحرجة شعور القارئ أنه يشاهد الأحداث تجري أمامه، أو ربّما أنه يعيشها.
