الاستمطار من أهم موضوعات الساعة، نظراً للأهمية الحيوية التي للماء في الحياة البشرية. يقع هذا الكتاب في تسعة فصول: أما الفصل الأول فيبحث في آلية تشكل السحب والتهاطل من حيث ماهيتها وبغيتها وآلية تشكلها وتشكل التهاطل. أما الفصل الثاني فيبحث في أنواع السحب من حيث المظهر والارتفاع ونمط حركات الهواء حسب درجة حرارة طبقة السحب. ويتحدث أيضاً عن سحب الاستطمار. وفي الفصل الثالث يتحدث عن مفهوم الاستمطار وتطوره من حيث محاولات بذر السحب، واكتشاف إيود الفضة كنويات جليدية. أما الفصل الرابع يتناول محرضات السحب على التهاطل سواء كانت عرضات باردة أو دافئة. وفي الفصل الخامس يبحث في السحب الاصطناعية سواء كانت باردة أو دافئة، ويبحث الفصل السادس طرق بذر السحب بالمحرضات وهذه الطرق إما أن تكون أرضية أو جوية. أما الفصل السابع يبحث الكتاب في جوانب أخرى من تطبيقات البذر. وفي الفصل الثامن يتناول نتائج بذر السحب. ويشرح في الفصل الأخير نماذج من تجارب البذر العالمية.
