في هذه الرواية تتحول غرائبية ألف ليلة وليلة إلى لغة سرية, وارتحالات مختلفة ضمن عوالم غربية. في كل مرة يأخذ الارتحال شكلاً آخر, في تماس عميق مع البحث المضني عن الذات والوجود, فليست شهرزاد هنا هي الرواية التي تروض الرجل. إنها التي تحاول ترويض ما يحيط ذاتها من غموض وخرافات وطلاسم وأساطير. إنها شهرزاد جديدة, وقبل أن تقلقها علاقتها مع شهريار, فإن قلقها السري هو قلق الذات. علاقة نفسية وفلسفية متداخلة تؤصل لرؤية مغايرة ومختلفة في سرد حداثي عميق, وتقنية روائية عالية. هي من الروايات التي لا تدرك إلا حين تقرأ, لتفتح باب الأسئلة على مصراعيه.
