خليل تقي الدين (1906-1987) هو كاتب وصحافي ودبلوماسي لبناني ساهم تعدّد مشاربه في إثراء نتاجه الأدبي شكلاً ومضموناً.
فهو لم يكتف بكتابة الأدب، بل طمح أيضاً إلى تجديده من خلال مساهمته، إلى جانب االياس أبو شبكة وغيره من الأدباءعام 1930 ، بتأسيس 'عصبة العشرة'، وهي حركة أدبية مجدّدة شنّت حرباً ضروس على الأساليب القديمة المتحجرة.
من أعماله: "عشر قصص من صميم الحياة": تحوي أخبار رجال ونساء عرفهم ويروي قصة كلّ واحد منهم في أفراحهم الاعدام.

لخليل تقيّ الدين حواسّ تسمع وترى ما لم تسمع به أذن ولا رأت به عين. وقد قُدّر لهذا القصّاص والأديب والدبلوماسي اللبناني الراحل أن يطوف أنحاء الأرض من الشرق الى الغرب ومن الشمال الى الجنوب، وأن يعايش شعوبًا متعدّدة ومختلفة الأجناس والألوان والألسنة، ويدخل قصورًا يسكنها ملوك، وأكواخًا يعيش فيها صعاليك، ويتّصل بعمالقة ويعرف أقزامًا فيسمع ويرى ويسجّل لتكون هذه "الخواطر" هي باكورة مشاهداته وتجربته الغنيّة عبر السنين.
