لا يحاول الكاتب في هذه الرواية التبشير بالحقيقة المطلقة بل بالبحث "المطلق" عنها من خلال طرح أسئلة الأنا والآخر، ووضع العلاقة بين المسكوت عنه والمعلن في إطارها الصحيح. رغم الخطورة الشديدة التي ينطوي عليها فعل ذلك، إنها مقطع عرضي معبر عن سوء الفهم المتبادل الذي يمارسه الفرقاء، كل بحسب منفعته الأيديولوجية التي يظن أن بها وحدها خلاص الفرد من وسواس الشك والحيرة.
