مقتطفات من الكتاب: تكامل يقود إلى استقرار: إن الحياة الزوجية، هي بمثابة إعادة لتوحُّد كل من الزوج والزوجة، فيرجع الرجل إلى المرأة ليجد السكن على أساس المودة والرحمة، ثم ها هي الزوجة تترك بيت أهلها فتذهب لتعيش مع حبيبها وزوجها، فتعيش في كنفه في أمان، ثم ما تلبث أن تمنح لزوجها الحب والعشق، وتشاركه في المسئوليات، وحينما يرى الزوج هذا من امرأته، يستشعر واجباته تجاه زوجته وأسرته، فيعمل لإسعاد هذه الأسرة بشتى الوسائل المادية والروحية. (إن الله خلق حواء من ضلع آدم، ومقتضى ذلك أن تكون المرأة بعض الرجل، وأن يكون الرجل الكل الذي انبثقت منه المرأة، فهذا هو ما يولد المودة والرحمة، لأن الكل ينبغي أن يعطف على الجزء وأن يحتويه، والجزء ينبغي أن يطيع الكل، وعليه فينبغي أن يكون في وعي الرجل والمرأة عند التعامل في نطاق العلاقة الزوجية جزئية "عم الاستغناء" فلا يستطيع أحدهما الاستغناء عن الآخر، الجزئية الثانية في الحياة الزوجية والتي قررها القرآن أيضًا وهي المعاشرة بالمعروف وهي لون من ألوان الاتفاق الصامت الذي يوجب على طرف من أطراف العلاقة الزوجية أن يترك أو يتنازل عن جزء من حقه، لكي يلتقي بالطرف الآخر في نقطة سواء، لأن الإصرار على الحقوق كاملة لن تحقق العشرة بالمعروف. وفي ظلال المعاشرة بالمعروف يكون كل حق من جهة هو واجب من جهة أخرى، فلكل واحد من الزوجين "حقوق" تجاه الآخر، هي واجبات على ذلك الآخر، حددها الشرع، وفصلها أوضح تفصيل. الفرق بين الحق والواجب، هو أن صاحب الحق يجوز أن يتنازل عن حقه ويسامح به، بل يكون بذلك مأجورًا، أما المكلف بالواجب فلا يجوز له تركه إلا بإذن صاحبه.
