كتابٌ في التربية والتعليم يرشد مدرسي اللغة العربية إلى الطريقة المُثلى في إيصال المعلومات لطلاب المدارس الإعدادية والثانوية. قُسِّم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة أقسام كبيرةٍ، أولها ((في اللغة العربية ومُدرِّسها ومناهجها وبعض الأصول العامة في التدريس))؛ تحدث فيه المؤلف عن وظيفة اللغة، وأصل اللغة العربية، وخصائصها، والغرض من تدريسها في الثانويات، وعن فروعها. وتوقف عند الأصول العامة في التدريس؛ فتكلم عن مراحل الدرس، ومسؤولية المدرس وإعداده، وأهمية تحضير الدروس قبل إلقائها، وعن الأسئلة والأجوبة. وختم القسم بالحديث عن مناهج اللغة العربية والكتاب المدرسي. وتخصص القسم الثاني في أساليب تدريس العربية لكل فرعٍ من فروعها؛ القراءة والتعبير، والنحو، والإملاء والخط، والنصوص الأدبية، والأدب، والبلاغة، والعروض؛ فتكلم المؤلف في كل فرعٍ عن غرضه، وأهدافه، وعن طريقة تقديمه للطلاب. وقدم نماذج تطبيقية في إلقاء الدروس ومناقشتها. أما القسم الثالث فقصره على النشاط اللغوي، فعرَّفه، وتحدث عن ألوانه، وأشار إلى دور التلفاز، والقراءة الحرة، ومكتبات المدارس، والصحافة، ونادي اللغة العربية، والتمثيل، والجمعيات الأدبية؛ كل ذلك من أجل تقوية الطلاب في لغتهم الأم، وتثبيت المعرفة. وختم الكتاب بنماذج من الأسئلة التي ينبغي أن يحتذيها المدرسون في امتحاناتهم وتفاعلهم مع طلابهم.
